AACC hosts Swedish Parliamentarians and officials from Act Church of Sweden
On 5th February 2025, five members of the Swedish Parliament and three officials from Act Church of Sweden and the development arm of the Swedish Pentecostal Movement paid a courtesy visit to the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) General Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya. Coordinated by the Embassy of Sweden in Kenya, the visit provided an opportunity to expose the delegation to the role of the AACC and the Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa (FECCLAHA) in Africa’s sustainable development.
On behalf of the General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki, the delegation was welcomed by Rev. Dr. Lesmore Gibson, AACC’s Director of Programmes. During the half day meeting, the delegation engaged with the staff in Nairobi on AACC’s mandate, work and sustainability strategies.
In her remarks, Ms. Phyllis Brewah, AACC’s Director for Finance and Administration appreciated the mutual accompaniment between AACC and the ACT Church of Sweden, expressing hope that this life flourishing relationship will continue to grow.
While presenting AACC’s programmatic overview, Ms. Ann Kioi, the Executive Secretary for Programmes development and fundraising described ACT Church of Sweden as one of AACC’s long-lasting partners. David Omondi also shared about FECCLAHA’s role in Africa’s peacebuilding efforts, especially within the great lakes region.
