Dr. Fidon expressed that the African churches thrive in the love of Christ that compels us to proclaim the same gospel of salvation to our own people and beyond, to fight for the dignity of Africans and people of African descent, to be faithful stewards of God’s creation, to exercise ethical leadership in our churches and society, to work for justice for all and to work for peace in the continent and beyond.
“We are so delighted to be in South Africa, and I would like to thank the South African Council of Churches and all member churches in South Africa for hosting us and the wonderful hospitality we are enjoying here.” Said the WCC Moderator, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Bedford-Strohm during the opening session.
