REV. DR. FIDON MWOMBEKI RE-ELECTED GENERAL SECRETARY OF AACC
The General Committee of the All Africa Conference of Churches has unanimously re-elected Rev. Dr. Fidon R. Mwombeki for a second term of 5 years from January 2024 to December 2028. In compliance with the AACC constitution, the General Committee, acted on the decision of the Presidium of AACC to strongly recommend Rev. Dr. Mwombeki for re-election.
Rev. Dr. Mwombeki started his 5-year term as General Secretary of AACC in January 2019. The Presidium, which includes the President of AACC and the five regional vice Presidents conducted a thorough evaluation of his work and were fully satisfied with his performance and therefore strongly recommended his reelection by the General Committee. In particular, they appreciated his collegial and strong leadership, the growth of the AACC in many aspects, the sustainability of the organization even through the Covid19 pandemic, and the impressive implementation of AACC programs which have been witnessed among member churches, partners and other stakeholders.
Addressing the staff of AACC on 5th May 2023, Rt. Rev. Arnold Temple, the President of AACC informed the staff that the General Committee is grateful to God for the life, ministry and leadership of Dr. Mwombeki in the ecumenical movement. ’s leadership, but also the gifts and team work of all staff which made the work of AACC excel in these last years. He called on their cooperation and continued good work. “We pray God to grant him greater grace, wisdom, sound mind and good health as he continuous to give leadership to the All Africa Conference of Churches”, said President Temple.
