VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR AN ARCHIVIST/ PROGRAMME ASSISTANT POSITION

The All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC) is a continental ecumenical body that accounts for over 200 million Christians across the continent. It is a fellowship of 210 members comprising of churches, National Council of Churches, Christian Organizations and Theological Institutions in 43 African countries. B). ARCHIVIST/PROGRAMMME ASSISTANT CONCEPT NOTE
AACC was established in April 1963 and since then has continuously accompanied member churches through Theology and Interfaith Relations among several other programmes. We invite interested persons including college/university graduates to apply for the position of Archivist/Programme Assistant. The person will be engaged as an Archivist and Programme Assistant within the Theology and Interfaith Relations Unit.
C). RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Assist in the coordination, Communication and correspondence within Theology and Interfaith Relations Unit.
ii. Assist in the development, organization, maintenance and day-to-day running of the AACC library/archive as a key resource for the MTEL programme.
iii. Communicate with students, lecturers and other stakeholders about the Master of Theology in Ecumenical Leadership on issues related to the programme (MTEL).
iv. Respond to emails from applicants of the Master of Theology in Ecumenical Leadership Programme.
v. Communicate with participants and facilitators on issues regarding the 5th Annual Theological Symposium.
vi. Liaise with Rapporteurs for the Theological Symposium to ensure that reports are submitted to the Executive Secretary promptly.
vii. Assist the Executive Secretary in any administrative tasks assigned to them.
viii. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Executive Secretary.
D). QUALIFICATIONS
i. Minimum of a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree with a focus on Communication, Library/Archival Information Science or any other related field from a recognized institution.
ii. Computer literacy related to Library Information and Resource Management skills.
iii. Good command of written and spoken English (bi-lingual i.e. English-French is an added advantage).
iv. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision even under pressure.
v. Experience working with theological or faith-based organizations is an asset.

F). EFFECTIVE DATE
1st April 2024.
G). DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT
One (1) year (from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025). With a possibility of renewal.
