VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION: ADMINISTRATION / ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
BACKGROUND: The AACC is a fellowship of 210 Member Churches and Christian Councils in 43 African
countries. The organization has its Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya, a Regional Office in Lome, Togo
and a Liaison Office to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The organization has a 104- room hotel with state of the art conference rooms, and gym. Management is looking for a self-motivated Administration / Accounts Assistant to support in the efficient running of the
hotel.
REPORTING TO: ACCOUNTANT
A) GENERAL ADMINISTRATION RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with DTCC General Manager, assist the AACC Director for Finance and Administration with day-to-day operations of the Human Resource functions and duties at DTCC such as:
Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies).
Deal with leave updates including annual, off days, maternity, paternity, sick, compassionate, compensation and study leaves for employees.
Manage all casual staff contracts and handling all records of related documents.
Maintain confidentiality in handling official information especially data related to Human Resource.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate filing of documents and records and write and prepare minutes / reports of meetings.
Perform any other administrative duties that may be assigned from time to time.
B) ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
Representing the accounts team when goods are received at the stores. Matching purchase orders to goods received notes and physical goods received.
File all suppliers’ invoices and reconciling suppliers’ statements on a monthly basis.
Review the accounts payable aging on a monthly basis in liaison with the Hotel Accountant.
Ensure that all invoices are completed and all supporting documents attached, and delivered to clients in time for payment.
Ensure utility bills are paid on time in liaison with the Hotel Accountant.
Assist the Hotel Accountant to coordinate with the front office and restaurant to ensure that revenue is captured as and when it occurs.
Manage the petty cash for the day to day small transactions and report to the Hotel Accountant for replenishment.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
C) REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a degree or equivalent in Business Administration from a recognized institution.
2 years working experience in the hotel industry.
Active participation as a member in good standing of AACC member church.
Knowledge in accounting software used in hotels.
Proficiency in English.
Must have knowledge in use of MS Office packages including advanced word, Power Point, and Excel.
D) WORKSTATION: AACC Desmond Tutu Conference Centre / Hotel, Nairobi - Kenya.
E) START DATE: 3rd November 2025 to 31st October 2026
F) DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT: One (1) year renewable based on satisfactory performance.
