AACC and DanMission Convene Kenyan Church Leaders to Strengthen Response to Misleading Theologies

The All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC), in collaboration with DanMission, convened 35 church leaders, theologians and representatives of theological institutions in Kenya for a 2 day national capacity-building workshop aimed at strengthening the Church’s response to contextually misleading theologies. 

While opening the workshop on 21st September 2026, the AACC General Secretary Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki described misleading theologies as an urgent concern for the African Church, warning against teachings and practices that harm communities. He highlighted health and healing, prosperity theology and the misuse of spiritual authority as areas requiring critical theological engagement.

“The church in Africa is experiencing an internal crisis of theological corruption and the ecumenical world of Christ cannot stay silent because silence is complicity.” He emphasized. 

The engagement builds on AACC’s theological work on contextually misleading theologies since 2019, as it continues to support churches in promoting teachings that uphold human dignity, protect vulnerable communities and are life-giving.
