AACC General Secretary’s Report Highlights major milestones reached since the 2018 Kigali Assembly

While presenting the five-year report (2018 -2023) during the third Business session of the Assembly on 20th November 2023, the AACC General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki expressed great delight in the active involvement of the members of the fellows in its endeavors to participate in God’s wholistic mission to the world. The General secretary showcased the various initiatives that the organization has put in place to improve livelihoods and promote abundant life for all of God’s creation. 

“In the past five years; our work has been running under four main programmatic pillars,” he said. “Theology, interfaith Relations and Ecclesial Leadership Development, Gender, Women and Youth, Peace, Diakonia and Development, and Advocacy at the African Union.” He continued. 

“On addition to the four programmatic pillars, there were two main organizational pillars: Governance, Membership Development, and Networking, and Effective Management and Sustainability.” 

The General Secretary reported that the political, economic, and social landscape of the continent was very complex throughout the past five years, with several enormous challenges such as the emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic, political uprisings, worsening climate change-related disasters, among others. 

“Nevertheless, the AACC remained efficient and effective in its operations” He noted. 

Among the Key milestones he highlighted, included the launch of the All Africa Youth Congress, a Pan-African campaign running on the theme: Africa: My Home. My Future., and aiming at inspiring African Young people to love and invest in the holistic development of their countries and the African Continent. The launch of this campaign took place in Accra Ghana last year and convened over a thousand African young people from 43 African Countries and the diaspora. 

Dr Fidon Mwombeki expressed his sincere gratitude to all AACC members and partners whose contributions facilitate the mission work of the organization.
