Executive Committee Celebrated AACC’s Growth and Revised its Leadership Structure
The Executive Committee (EXCOM) is responsible for executing the functions of the General Committee in the periods between its meetings. It is authorized to make decisions on behalf of the General Committee, ensuring alignment with the established strategic objectives and policies. During its meeting held on 30th April 2025, at the Desmond Tutu Conference Center, the EXCOM celebrated the organization’s growth and achievements with inspiring commendations to the staff, gratitude to the members and partners, and praise to God for the milestones realized.
The committee acknowledged that the General Secretary and his team had demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication, ensuring financial prudence and long-term sustainability across all operational areas of the AACC. It was stated that through strategic planning and sound stewardship, they had fostered institutional growth and stability, setting a benchmark for excellence. Furthermore, their commitment to working towards a debt-free organization was recognized as a significant achievement, reflecting their dedication to financial responsibility and sustainable progress.
On membership matters, the Committee reviewed five applications for AACC membership and admitted the Ethiopian Council of Gospel Believers Churches as an associate member of the AACC fellowship. To ensure that all aspects in the current AACC strategy are covered, the EXCOM revised the organization structure, increasing the number of programmatic departments from three to four, effective 1st June 2025. These include:
Peace, Theology, Development & Ecclesial Leadership
Gender, Women, Youth & Sustainable Population
African Union Liaison Office & Advocacy
The EXCOM, therefore, appointed Ann Kioi who has been serving as the Executive Secretary for Programmes Development and Fundraising as the Director for Gender, Women, Youth and Sustainable Population. In addition, the committee extended the contracts of the following three Directors for three years until 2028.
Dr. Gorden Simango as the Director for the African Union Liaison Office & Advocacy
Ms. Phyllis Brewah as the Director for Finance and Administration.
Rev. Dr. Lesmore G. Ezekiel as the Director for Peace, Theology, Development & Ecclesial Leadership.
Meanwhile, Rev. Dr. Angele Dogbe will continue in her role as the Director for the Regional Office Lomé. She was also assigned to be the focal point for issues related to children and education. The revised organizational structure is provided here below.
