"The kind of church and society we want to have in Africa is possible,” 60th Anniversary Message from Youth to AACC.

During AACC’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations at the National Christian Centre, Abuja on 19th November 2023, young people expressed great admiration to the founders of the fellowship and Ecumenists whose contributions to the life and work of AACC have sustained the fellowship.

Speaking on behalf of the All Africa Youth Network, the youngest delegate at AACC’s 12th General Assembly, Ms. Wapalwwa Musaba, from the United Church of Zambia noted that the celebration is a very precious moment for all the African young people.

“Africa is My Home. Africa is My Future,” she affirmed as she described the celebration as a moment that signified that the desire for freedom from all forces of destruction and the love for Unity among all people of Africa did not die with our ancestors who found our communities on the principle of Ubuntu; and those whose labors of love founded the AACC with a vision of churches in Africa united for life, dignity, and justice.

The 17-year-old noted that AACC’s 12th General Assembly was taking place at a time when the world was in dire need of love; the love that facilitates holistic healing, amends broken relations, rescues the many who are perishing due to the various forms of injustices, the climate change crisis, violence and wars, contemporary slavery and human trafficking.

“With this awareness, we take this celebration as a sign of God’s commitment to make our labors of love prosper. In this celebration, we draw the inspiration to keep us focused and determined to build the Africa we want: An integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens, representing a dynamic force in the international arena by 2063,” she said.

“We will continue investing our resources, offering ourselves, our gifts, talents, and abilities, and doing everything within our means to not only ensure that we build that loving, just, united, and peaceful Church and society in Africa but to also ensure that the AACC is alive through all generations to come,” she continued.
