CAPA expresses deep concern and unwavering solidarity with the people of DRC
Through its statement for Peace on the Congo Crisis released on 12th February 2025, the Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa (CAPA) noted that the turmoil impacting DRC is a profound humanitarian tragedy, marked by violence, displacement and suffering that affects millions of innocent lives. It also acknowledges that the extensive history of conflict in the DRC, deeply rooted in the colonial legacies and exacerbated by political instability, economic exploitation, and ethnic tensions.
The statement called for; an end to violence, dialogue and reconciliation, support for human aid, respect for human rights and sustainable development.
