AACC announces change of venue for the 2025 All Africa Youth Congress

In his letter to the AACC partners and members dated 11th March 2025, the AACC General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Fidon Mwombeki noted that the venue for the 2025 AAYC has been changed from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as earlier communicated, to Nairobi, Kenya.

“The Congress will, therefore, take place in Nairobi, Kenya from 31st October to 5th November 2025, including arrival and departure dates.” Read the letter. “This decision was informed by news from the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus on the potential impact of the ongoing corridor development processes in Addis Ababa on the congress preparations.” It continued.

With the theme Africa: My Home. My Future., the AAYC is not only key in nurturing, and deepening the spirit of ecumenism among African Young people but also strengthening Pan-Africanism and advancing the African youth agency for the continent's sustainable development.

“I am encouraging all African young people (aged 18 to 35 years) within the AACC constituency in Africa and the diaspora who have not yet expressed interest to participate in the congress to register.”  Wrote the General Secretary.  “Similarly, all AACC partners interested in contributing to the congress program through side events and other activities to also express interest.” He continued.

Expression of interest to participate in the congress closes on 30th April 2025.
